Kansas City, Mo. – DSI® announced today Compass Minerals®, a 10-year DSI customer, is expanding its use of DSI’s digital supply chain solutions to optimize business processes and increase visibility, consistency and accuracy.
Compass Minerals, a leading provider of essential minerals including salt for winter roadway safety and other consumer, industrial and agricultural uses, has chosen to further leverage DSI’s products, expanding from utilizing automated data collection in their warehouses to implementing mobile solutions for field service.
“As part of our Business Process Reengineering project, Compass Minerals was looking for a solid platform to handle our needs in barcoding, electronic data capture and provide mobile applications for our maintenance personnel,” said Brian Whitley, senior director, information technology services, Compass Minerals. “DSI provides that platform under a single architecture versus using multiple solutions from other vendors.”
Whitley added, “We are also a current consumer of the DSI product, so we were already familiar with DSI and their ability to deliver.”
The goal of the extended implementation is to achieve process automation and simplification across their extended supply chain. The company currently uses DSI solutions to automate inventory processes to increase consistency and reduce reporting variations and the need for additional manpower. With the expansion, Compass Minerals will deploy the mobile platform across all sites to extend these benefits throughout the business.
The expansion also includes implementing the DSI Field Service solution to facilitate the entry and completion of maintenance work orders for personnel, and eliminate the time-consuming manual data entry steps currently performed at the end of a shift.
